Futanashi Tokoname Teapot

Description

This is what is known as a futanashi (no lid) teapot. Here at Yuuki-Cha we enjoy using this style of teapot for casaul brewing of aromatic teas such as hojicha or genmaicha. The unique open lid design allows the aroma to easily lift from the teapot into the surrounding air which makes for a very pleasant brewing experience. A fun, inexpensive, easy to clean, glazed teapot, made in Tokoname. In addition, it makes for a very good travel teapot. It's durable enough to take along on a trip or to use at work allowing you to enjoy the authentic Japanese side handle pour where ever you may be! Interesting aspects of this teapot: • NO LID - You don't have to worry about where you put it (especially when you have just filled your teapot up). You also don't have to worry about losing it, dropping it, or breaking it. • ONE HAND POUR - Very easy to pour with one hand. Again, no lid to worry about. • WATCH THE TEA LEAVES - you can watch the tea leaves opening. • NO SPILL - Doesn't spill out of the top. • EASY CLEAN - Very easy to clean and easy to throw away spent tea leaves. • LONGER HANDLE - Has a longer handle - easy to hold away from your body. Difficult to burn yourself. • WATER COOLER - Can also be used as a water cooler. • INSIDE COOLS QUICKLY - The inside cools quickly after you have poured the tea meaning that the tea leaves cool quickly, don't become soggy, and don't continue steeping after you have poured. This can improve the quality of 2nd and 3rd infusions. NOTE: This teapot can be used for general brewing. However, We wouldn't recommend it for temperature dependent green teas such as high quality sencha, kabusecha or gyokuro, but as mentioned above it works great for hojicha and genmaicha, and would make a convenient travel teapot.
