Nasu Banko Yaki Teapot

Description

A high quality Banko Yaki teapot shaped like a variety of eggplant (nasu in Japanese), and made from shidei clay which has been decorated with tobikanna bands and embossed 9 petal flowers. Handmade by master craftsman Tachi Masaki one of the most highly regarded Banko potters, and a foremost figure in keeping alive the Banko spirit. There are two stamps on the teapot (see image below). The left stamp reads 'Banko' and the right stamp reads 'Masaki'.
