Organic Uji Houjicha

Description

A gold quality organic hojicha from Uji made predominantly from first harvest stems that are harvested in spring along with a small portion of roasted sencha leaves that are also taken from the first harvest. First harvest hojicha has superior taste and aroma to the more common later harvest organic hojicha teas. It is smooth, subtly sweet, and well balanced.

First Harvest? Yes (100%) Harvest Year 2009 Brewing Suggestion In a large Japanese teapot: Place 10-15g of tea into the teapot. Pour about 1 liter of hot water into the teapot. Leave to infuse for 1-2 minutes and serve. Allow to cool slightly before drinking. In a small Japanese teapot: Place 6g of tea into the teapot. Pour about 180ml/6oz of 80-90°C water into the teapot.
