I didn't think there was much to say about a bamboo matcha scoop but there is. Other similar scoops looked really cheaply made compared to this one, which was as dark as the picture and much better finished. The tea doesn't stick to and discolor the back side like the others, which appeared to have unfinished backs so the matcha is absorbed into the wood. These may be minor points, but I prefer quality and this piece from Yuuki-Cha has it. I now wonder if those other Takayama chashaku were the real thing or if they were cheap, Made in China ripoffs. Some Japanese distributors do not always identify substitute products from China to the vendor. |
