A high quality first harvest organic sencha that comes from Kumamoto prefecture on the island of Kyushu, Japan. This is one of the finest organic sencha that we have ever had the pleasure of selling here at Yuuki-Cha. Grown in an isolated spot between mountains at 500m above sea level. Deep morning mist, ideal temperature differences between day and night, and the special Japanese tea bush varietal "saemidori" that is cultivated on the farm gives this organic sencha its outstanding, distinctive flavor and boundless lingering aftertaste that any real connoisseur of Japanese green tea would recognize instantly. Saemidori

Saemidori is a hybrid offspring of Yabukita and Asatsuyu tea breeds that was developed, researched, and tested from around the 1970's. In 1990, it was finally registered, and is now successfully cultivated for the production of matcha, gyokuro, and high quality sencha in a number of tea growing regions of Japan. It is generally only cultivated by organic tea farmers that, above all, seek to cultivate superior quality green tea.
