| Description |

Shiraore is the name given to stem teas from some prefectures in Kyushu including Kumamoto and is basically the same type of tea as sencha karigane from Uji e.g made from first harvest stems and leaves as opposed to stem teas made up from later harvest stems and leaves.
This particular Shiraore is cultivated on the single estate in the tranquil mountainous area of Yabe, Kumamoto and is produced from only stems and sencha leaves sorted during the first harvest. Only tea bush varietals that are used to produce high quality organic sencha such as Saemidori and Okumidori are used to make this tea.
Stem teas are most notable for being sweet tasting and this one is no exception to the rule. It's very sweet tasting, highly aromatic, subtly grassy flavored, and full of mountain goodness and life force just like all of the teas we get from the mountains of Kumamoto! JAS certified and a deliciously healthy affordable daily tea! |
