NOTE: If you order this sencha now, you'll receive 2012 shincha (new harvest tea)!

Rich, sweet, savory tasting Kagoshima fukamushi sencha goodness made from the highly prized asatsuyu cultivar! It presents a very appetizing aroma and flavor that is somewhat reminiscent of young tender corn. Along with vegetal sweetness and buttery smoothness it gives a rather complex mouthfeel. The clean aftertaste leaves one feeling refreshed and the deep green liquor color adds a little extra to the overall appeal of this sublime organic fukamushi green tea!

“Sweet corn and buttery smoothness” absolutely describes my original enjoyment of Sencha Asatsuyu in spring and it became an immediate favourite. I’ve re-ordered a couple of times through fall and winter and noticed how it developed, becoming more mellow with a dark chocolaty richness and lovely sweet after taste. Deep green, velvety- smooth and comforting, it’s one of those special teas that seems to induce relaxation. The word “sublime” used in the Yuuki-cha text is not an exaggeration.

This sencha is one of my favorites! It has an almost popcorn taste to it that is very buttery with a very smooth finish. No bitterness at all. A wonderful tasting deep steamed sencha!

Really great in shincha form, much like it's offspring Sae Midori from Kagoshima it has a mild and sweet smell when dry and brewed, although not quite as rich and satisfying. Great for the price of £16 including delivery to the UK.
