A Matsukawa Tokoname teapot by Gyokko. The design on the teapot resembles pine tree bark or in Japanese "Matsukawa". There are three vertical indentations on the teapots body giving the teapot an interesting and attractive shape. There are also a few areas that reveal the shudei (brick colored clay) which was the original color of the teapot before it was fired. A Gyokko masterpeice!

This is a wonderful teapot! I love that it has a rustic look while remaining sophisticated. It has just the right amount of whimsey. It's great quality as well.

I absolutely adore this teapot. It's the perfect size for me to enjoy tea alone or when I'm sharing with another person. The sasame filter is very easy to clean and it's a stunning pot. I enjoy this teapot so much that I have to order another, because my cat just destroyed mine, and I can't imagine not having it in my collection.
