An exquisite teapot by well-regarded Tokoname potter Hokuryu with four excellent features!

Firstly, this is a "Chakkiri Kyusu" which means it has a triangular-like shaped spout that pours smoothly without dripping.

Secondly, the lip where the lid rests on has a small area which has been cut out making it easy to clean out the tea from the teapot after each usage and also allows any excess water to drip out of the teapot when it is drying out.

Thirdly, the teapot's base color is black, yet about 2/3 of the teapot is covered by an excellent dark green itome design which is a impressive grove design created by using a special potter's tool. In addition, many small oval cuts have been made around the top of the teapot and on the lid making for a wonderful pattern.

Lastly, this kyusu comes with the ever so reliable obi-ami 360° stainless steel mesh making it perfect for all loose leaf green teas!

I love it! It is just the right size for me to make one cup at a time. The tea stays fresh over multiple infusions. and it looks nice. Very easy to clean. I upgraded from a wire mesh tea ball, and the teapot makes much better tasting tea, more easily, and less messy.
