This organic sencha comes to us directly from Mr. Harima who is a very long established organic tea grower in Ujitawara in Kyoto. He was one of the first tea growers in Japan to become certified organic.
This particular tea is his highest graded light steamed organic sencha which is cultivated on traditionally the optimum harvesting date for green tea in Japan, known as Hachiju-Hachiya in Japanese. It is a carefully balanced blend of Yabukita and Komakage which gives it a very distinctive sweetness of flavor, slight buttery mouthfeel, and a pleasant rich lingering aftertaste.
