A totally exclusive organic sencha that was specially made by our grower in Hioki, Kagoshima specifically for us to purvey at our online tea store this year.
A light steamed organic asamushi sencha made from a small production of Okuyutaka cultivar and harvested on the very special day known as Hachiju-Hachiya (the 88th day after the first day of spring on the authentic Japanese calendar). Traditionally, it's the optimized day for harvesting green tea in Japan, and it's said, drinking tea from the Hachiju-Hachiya harvest will warn off disease and illness for the year, and bring good health.
A very fine delightfully soft and mellow tasting organic sencha with hints of savory and nutty undertones and a smooth mouth feeling that is soft through the throat with no bitterness or sharpness at all. Amazing rounded taste, easy to drink, totally satisfying, and brilliant value, too. Can't recommend this one enough for those that prefer soft and mellow lighter steamed sencha.
