A totally exclusive organic sencha that was specially made by our grower in Hioki, Kagoshima specifically for us to purvey at our online tea store this year.
A light steamed organic asamushi sencha made from a small production of Yamakai cultivar, a pretty specialized and exclusive cultivar nowadays, and quite well known for its higher levels of methylated catechin than many other Japanese tea cultivars, however, not associated with any nasty bitterness or astringency.
In fact, this particular one is very naturally sweet with a slightly thicker taste that remains smooth and clean on the palate, both succulent and savory with no bitterness and no lack of fragrance when brewed either. Not quite as clear as some of our other lighter steamed organic sencha, but the extra thickness adds a greater depth and complexity of taste making it both a delicious and healthy Japanese green tea.
