NEW FOR 2010!!!! Asatsuyu is a unique high quality tea breed that brews into a magnificent cup of organic fukamushi sencha. Use less leaf to bring out a sweet, succulent flavor or more leaf to bring out a hearty, savory, vegetal flavor that is reminiscent of gyokuro!
What is Fukamushi Sencha?
Fukamushi-Cha is deep steamed sencha. The longer steaming process gives fukamushi its notable characteristics. The dry leaf smells sweet, the brewed tea takes on a thick cloudy appearance, and the taste is sweeter and deeper than regularly steamed sencha. On the negative side, fukamushi sencha is considered by some to be inelegant because the dry leaf is mostly broken up due to the longer steaming. However, on the positive side, this results in many tiny leaf particles making their way into the brewed tea, and when organically cultivated this makes for a very healthy cup of green tea!

Really great in shincha form, much like it's offspring Sae Midori from Kagoshima it has a mild and sweet smell when dry and brewed, although not quite as rich and satisfying. Great for the price of £16 including delivery to the UK.
