A Tokoname teapot from the highly regarded potter Koushin with a sasame ceramic mesh, a subtle mogake design, and a brilliant indented texture that makes the teapot look as though it has a stone finish.
In addition to those features, this teapot has no flange for the lid to rest on like most Japanese teapots have. Instead, there is just an opening at the top of the teapot which the lid fits into nice and snug by having a made-to-match vertical collar on the lid itself (please see the last additional image). This unique lid design offers a graceful form to the teapot.
