A limited batch of handpicked organic tencha from an authentic tana covered tea garden in Kyoto.
This particular organic tencha is made specifically from leaf material that is sorted out during the production stage such as the petiole and midrib part of the leaves, veiny heavier leaves, and some leaves that are sandwiched together. All of this type of leaf material is sorted out during the production stage of tencha because it is not suitable for grinding into matcha. However, this leaf material is actually highly nutritious and very rich in theanine, so it makes a very healthy delicious tea.
The taste is pure, clean, smooth, sweet, and soothingly theanine-rich, with a stimulating ooika aroma (the authentic aroma created during coverage/shading of the tea bushes during growth). Can be brewed at various temperatures e.g. like sencha or gyokuro, and is also nice ice brewed.
