A partially smoked Susudake Takayama Chashaku! Each one has been handselected to make sure it has an authentic partially smoke appearance as opposed to fully smoked e.g. it has a more patchy appearance of dark areas, but still some remaining lighter areas of the natural white color of the bamboo (please see second image above for some examples). This gives the Chashaku a truly natural and authentic look as opposed to Susudake Chashaku that are simply fully dark. Of course, this makes this type of Susudake Chashaku very sort after by those that practice the tea ceremony. Made from Japanese bamboo in Takayama, Nara, Japan.
